Waterblocks for the motherboard (MB waterblocks) are often being integrated after a watercooling system is already in place. With CPU and GPU waterblocks the need for a watercooling system is obvious, but with MB waterblocks the advantages often become apparent a little later: Watercooled Mainboards can be overclocked excellently and the annoying noise from the mostly high-speed small fans can be eliminated. Especially High-end Mainboards should be watercooled. Due to the many different Mainboard layouts only a rather small number of suitable waterblocks for Mainboards are available. Hence you should consider compatibility with the chosen waterblocks in advance when purchasing a Mainboard.
